Pokémon Pop-Tarts are back for the first time in 25 years, and I need one right now

Pokémon Pop-Tarts are back for the first time in 25 years, and I need one right now

Target has announced a partnership with Pokémon for a new line of things that will be available soon, including the return of Pokémon Pop-Tarts for the first time in 25 years.

These are Pop-Tarts in the frosted vanilla cupcake flavor, with the iconic starter Pokémon Pikachu, Charmander, and Bulbasaur on the packaging. The Pop-Tarts are dusted with sprinkles that represent the hues of those three species. They look fantastic.

The 12-pack of Pop-Tarts will cost $4 when it hits stores on May 2 and online on May 3. Kellogg’s first offered Pokémon-themed Pop-Tarts in the early 2000s as a promotion for the Pokémon 2000 film. Following that, only a limited number of Pokémon Pop-Tarts were released in conjunction with other products.

This year marks Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, and the collaboration between the two companies includes over 100 goods that are only available at Target. Other things include various Pokemon clothes, kickballs, scents, detangling hair brushes, and water bottles.

Not everything goes on sale at once; the first wave of items, including Pop-Tarts, will be available in shops on May 2 and online the following day, with a second round of Pokemon things available on June 6. Visit Target’s website to see the 100+ Pokemon items on sale and to find out when they go on sale. Pokémon goods are well-known for their popularity, so if you see something you like, you’ll most likely want to buy it right immediately.

Pokémon Champions, a fighting game, was released on April 8 for the Nintendo Switch. The free game allows you to participate in short online battles against other Pokemon fans.

Al Horford’s late three-pointers lead the Warriors to a play-in win against the Clippers

Al Horford’s late three-pointers lead the Warriors to a play-in win against the Clippers

On Wednesday, April 16, Al Horford hit four 3-pointers in the final 5:37 of a Western Conference play-in game, propelling the 10th-place Golden State Warriors to a 126-121 victory against the ninth-place Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood, California.

Golden State will face the Suns in a sudden-death battle in Phoenix on Friday, determining the West’s No. 8 seed and the first-round playoff opponent for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The loss brings the Clippers’ season to an end.

Horford’s late-game hot streak contributed to Golden State’s 27-13 victory. Stephen Curry capped a 35-point night with a deep 3-pointer with 50.4 seconds left, putting the Warriors up for good, 120-117. Curry’s seven makes on 12 attempts from beyond the arc led the Warriors to a 19-of-41 long-range bombardment (46.3%).

Regardless of Curry’s contributions, Horford stole the show.

The 39-year-old veteran had only two points off the bench before his late surge. He finished with 14 points, thanks to two assists from Gui Santos followed by two assists by Curry.

Santos played an important all-around role for the Warriors, ending with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points for Golden State, including six consecutive in the fourth quarter.

Porzingis converted a 3-pointer to cut the Clippers’ advantage from nine to three with 8:17 remaining.

Los Angeles responded when Darius Garland converted his own and-one, and Garland fed Brook Lopez for an interior bucket. Garland finished his impressive stretch with a 3-pointer that extended Los Angeles’ advantage back to nine with 6:37 left.

The Clippers lost control of the game after leading for the majority of it until that moment.

Garland and Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points each, allowing Los Angeles to lead by much to 13 points. However, the Clippers were unable to shake the Warriors in the second half, especially as Leonard went cold on offense.

Leonard had two errors in the fourth quarter and scored his only points on a dunk in the dying seconds, after Golden State had already secured the win. Leonard scored 14 points in the first half, including a coast-to-coast slam right before halftime.

Bennedict Mathurin led Los Angeles with 23 points off the bench.

Paulinho’s brace secures Toluca’s place in the Champions Cup semifinals

Paulinho’s brace secures Toluca’s place in the Champions Cup semifinals

CARSON, Calif.—The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup began on Wednesday with Deportivo Toluca FC defeating LA Galaxy 3–0 in the second leg of their quarterfinals series, 5–2 on aggregate, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, USA.

Toluca scored in the 10th minute with a long-range shot from Jesús Gallardo to the upper left corner. Franco Romero provided an assist on the play.

Paulinho extended the visitors’ advantage in the 58th minute. Nicolás Castro freed up Helinho on the right, and he produced a threaded pass for Paulinho to slot the ball away from the left side of the box.

Paulinho added another for Toluca in the 64th minute, this time with a chip over the goalkeeper to capitalize on Castro’s through play. The goal increased the Portuguese forward’s tally to six, tying him for the top scorer award.

Toluca FC has advanced to the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals for the sixth time in its history. The defending Liga MX champion will meet Los Angeles FC in the semi-finals.

They are the eighth different Liga MX team to reach the final four in the competition’s last four editions.

Toluca has scored multiple goals in six consecutive Concacaf Champions Cup matches dating back to the 2024 edition, equaling the longest such streak in the competition’s modern era (since 2008) and matching Cruz Azul’s run of six consecutive games with two or more goals from August to October 2009.

Toluca’s Jesús Gallardo scored the first goal of the Concacaf Champions Cup season, extending his total to three. He is the only defender to have scored multiple goals during the tournament.

This was Toluca’s third time scoring three goals away from home in the Concacaf Champions Cup. The first came in 2009 against D.C. United (3-1) and the second in 2013 against Caledonia AIA of Trinidad & Tobago (5-1).

Paulinho’s brace secures Toluca’s place in the Champions Cup semifinals

Maya Yoshida completed 77 of 81 passes (95.1%) tonight for the LA Galaxy. He has completed 95.6% of his passes (391 of 409) in this season’s Concacaf Champions Cup, the highest completion rate by any player to attempt 250 or more passes in a single tournament since at least the 2016-17 season.

This is the second time Toluca has won a Concacaf Champions Cup match despite lacking possession since at least the 2013-14 season. Los Diablos Rojos averaged 43% possession against the LA Galaxy tonight, compared to 47.1% versus Alajuelense in 2014.

Paulinho scored five goals in two quarterfinal legs against LA Galaxy, becoming only the second player since the 2016-17 season to score at least five goals in a single knockout round of the Concacaf Champions Cup, following Gabriel Pec of LA Galaxy in the Round of 16 against Mount Pleasant earlier this year.
