Rex Heuermann, accused with killing seven women between 1993 and 2011, is likely to plead guilty when he appears in Long Island court on Wednesday.

Rex Heuermann, 62, grew up in Long Island. He attended Berner High School and resided in Massapequa Park.

A neighbour described Heuermann as “hushed, dark, kept to himself, and extremely intelligent, very smart.”

Heuermann was an architect in Midtown Manhattan who owned and operated RH Consultants and Associates. His office was located on 36th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Police said a pizza box he discarded in the garbage near there was crucial evidence in the investigation.

At the time of his arrest, he owed more than $425,000 in taxes, according to Nassau County authorities. He has brought multiple lawsuits against drivers who allegedly injured him in car accidents. Three of the cases were either settled or dismissed.

Since his arrest, he has been held in near-solitary confinement for 23 hours a day in protective custody.
