Savannah Guthrie returns to ‘TODAY’ amid hunt for mother, saying “It’s good to be home.”

Savannah Guthrie returns to ‘TODAY’ amid hunt for mother, saying “It’s good to be home.”

She wore a bright yellow dress that matched the yellow ribbons and flowers left at her mother’s house.

The two anchors then discussed the morning’s main topics, including an introductory section concerning the US-Israeli conflict with Iran. Guthrie announced. “Let’s do the news.”

Authorities have described the incident as a suspected kidnapping or abduction.

Guthrie told Hoda Kotb last month that she believes returning to the “TODAY” anchor desk is “part of my purpose right now,” despite finding it difficult to envisage returning to a job she equates with “joy and lightness.”

But I can’t not return back because it’s my family,” Guthrie said in her first interview since the tragedy began. “I’m not sure if I can accomplish it. I’m not sure if I’ll belong anymore, but I’d want to try.”

“TODAY” co-anchor Craig Melvin announced Guthrie’s return during the show’s March 27 broadcast, saying, “It’s where she belongs.” That’s where we all want her to be.

Guthrie recognized the “TODAY” fans who had gathered outside on Rockefeller Plaza on Monday, some holding placards with her mother’s photo. “Guthrie told her co-anchors, “I’m excited to see them all and give them hugs.” “I’ve been really feeling the love so much.”

Nancy Guthrie’s family reported her missing about noon on February 1 when she failed to show up at a friend’s house for virtual church services, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. According to authorities, she was last seen around 9:45 p.m. the night before, after supper at her daughter Annie Guthrie’s home.

The inquiry into her disappearance captivated the nation and focused intensely on Tucson’s tranquil Catalina Foothills neighborhood. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect or motive, but the FBI has revealed terrifying doorbell camera footage showing an armed and masked guy outside Nancy Guthrie’s home on the morning she was reported missing.

The bureau characterized him as a man of average build, standing between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and carrying a black Ozark Trail Hiker Pack 25-liter backpack.

Savannah Guthrie returns to ‘TODAY’ amid hunt for mother, saying “It’s good to be home.”

Guthrie and her siblings, Camron and Annie Guthrie, have shared updates on the case on social media. In heartfelt Instagram videos, they have thanked the public for their prayers and made direct appeals to Nancy Guthrie’s possible abductor.

“Someone knows how to find our mom and bring her home,” Guthrie said in the description of a video posted on February 24.

The family has offered up to $1 million for information leading to the 84-year-old’s recovery. The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for “information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

Kotb, a “TODAY” contributor, filled in for Guthrie. During that time, Guthrie stepped down from NBC’s coverage of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, and Mary Carillo took over as co-host of the opening ceremony alongside NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon.

Guthrie paid a visit to the “Today” set on March 5. A photographer for The Associated Press captured photographs of Guthrie wiping away tears and embracing her colleagues outside the studio.

The visit was not broadcast. “I really wanted to come and see everyone.” “I just love this beautiful place that we call home, where we get to come and be every day,” Guthrie told Kotb, adding: “When times are tough, you want to be with your family.”

AM Markets Should Know: U.S.-Iran Updates, Global Chip Sales, and More

AM Markets Should Know: U.S.-Iran Updates, Global Chip Sales, and More

Stock index futures rose on Monday, as traders remained focused on Middle Eastern developments, notably the condition of the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S.-Iran The United States, Iran, and regional mediators are negotiating a potential 45-day ceasefire that might prepare the way for the war’s end, according to four U.S., Israeli, and regional sources familiar with the negotiations. The discussions are based on a two-phased agreement, with the first phase being a 45-day ceasefire to allow for more negotiations, and the second phase being an end-of-war settlement.

Trump issues an ultimatum over the Strait of Hormuz: United States President Donald Trump has given Iran till 8 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning that failure to comply could result in US assaults on critical infrastructure throughout the country.

Trump increased pressure on Tehran over the weekend with a series of social media postings and interviews, implying that power plants, bridges, and other important facilities could be targeted if the waterway continues closed. The strait, a critical corridor for global oil exports, has been mostly closed since confrontations between the United States, Israel, and Iran escalated more than a month ago.

Iran admits Iraqi oil via the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has suggested a partial relaxation of restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iraqi oil shipments to flow through the critical corridor after weeks of interruption that shook global energy markets, according to the Financial Times on Sunday.

The Ocean Thunder, an Iraqi tanker, safely passed the strait along Iran’s coastline over the weekend, transporting approximately 1 million barrels of Basrah Heavy crude, according to shipping data published by the newspaper. The passage is one of the most obvious indications yet that Tehran may be selectively reopening the waterway.

Global semiconductor sales rose to $88.8 billion in February 2026, up 7.6% month on month and 61.8% year on year, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. “Sales into the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, and China were all major drivers of year-to-year growth,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO.

Markets begin to price in a “Trump risk premium” as policy uncertainty and geopolitical tensions mount, according to economist Robin Brooks. Brooks, a former senior FX strategist at Goldman Sachs, believes recent movements in Treasury yields indicate that investors are beginning to price in political risk associated with President Donald Trump’s policy approach, particularly on trade, fiscal growth, and geopolitical issues.

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, appears to have laid off its head of AI as well as other of the department’s employees

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, appears to have laid off its head of AI as well as other of the department’s employees

Perhaps an indication that a bubble is about to burst.

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto, appears to have laid off some employees this week. As reported by Game Developer, the company’s head of AI, Luke Dicken, posted on his personal LinkedIn site that he and an unknown number of his team members had been let go.

“It’s truly disappointing that I have to share with you that my time with T2 – and that of my team – has come to an end,” Dicken writes. Over the next week or so, I’ll share a more thoughtful reflection on my experience with Zynga and T2, but for now I’d like to say appreciate your help in finding these awesome talented folks new positions – especially in the current climate.

” Dicken also mentioned that the team had been “developing cutting edge technology to support game development now for 7 years.” Several other team members have also declared their departure.

Dicken appears to have worked for Zynga (which was acquired by Take-Two in 2022), with his most recent position as senior director of applied AI before joining Take-Two to lead their AI group.

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, appears to have laid off its head of AI as well as other of the department’s employees

Last month, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick talked adversely about the use of generative AI tools, focusing on how their use does not ensure successful games rather than outright condemning them.

“These tools may help you create assets, but they will not help you create hits,” he stated at the time. “There are so many assets out there now. It makes no difference if you click a button to produce an asset or it takes six weeks; at the end of the day, you have an asset. Every year, many of mobile games are released, but only a few become successful.”

Perhaps what’s stranger is that Zelnick only mentioned his enthusiasm for generative AI in February, emphasizing the company’s position as a leader in the space.

It is unclear why these layoffs occurred at Take-Two. Last month, OpenAI shut down its AI video production app Sora, resulting in the collapse of a $1 billion collaboration with Disney. Perhaps the big wigs at the GTA publisher can see that the AI bubble is ready to burst, but this move does not necessarily mean the end of AI at Take-Two-owned companies.

Ten To Leave SM Entertainment But Remain With NCT And WayV

Ten To Leave SM Entertainment But Remain With NCT And WayV

Just days after Mark Lee announced his departure from NCT and SM Entertainment, Ten of NCT and WayV has decided not to renew his contract with SM Entertainment, but will remain with the groups. His contract with SM Entertainment expires on Wednesday, April 8.

SM Entertainment wrote on WayV’s Weverse page, “Following careful and extensive discussions regarding TEN’s future direction, we have reached a mutual understanding to conclude his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, effective April 8.” Moving ahead, we will maintain regular communication to explore options for TEN to join in WayV and NCT activities, as appropriate.”

On April 8, 2016, the Thai singer-dancer made her debut as NCT U, the first sub-unit of SM Entertainment’s 24-member super group NCT, alongside Jaehyun, Mark, Taeyong, and Doyoung. He has been a member of NCT U (Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Mark), the Chinese subunit WayV (Kun, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang), and SuperM.

He has released two solo EPs: Ten (2024) and STUNNER (2025). His debut solo album reached No.No. 6 on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart. His second mini-album topped the iTunes album chart in 13 cities, including Poland, Chile, Peru, and New Zealand.

In a press announcement, SM Entertainment emphasized Ten’s “distinctive artistic presence and breadth of talent” in both his group and solo work. They continued, “We sincerely appreciate the time we have shared together, and wish him all the best as he moves forward into a new chapter.”

Ten To Leave SM Entertainment But Remain With NCT And WayV

As I approach my tenth anniversary, I find myself eager to take on new tasks, explore new opportunities, and discover new versions of myself. So, after much consideration and heartfelt discussions with the members and staff of SM, I’ve chosen to end my exclusive deal with the firm.

SM will always be my “home”, and I will forever be happy to say that I grew up at SM – especially as the first Thai artist to do so!
I am glad for the opportunity to learn, perform, and grow as an artist at SM. It is something I will cherish.

I’d like to genuinely thank everyone who has been a part of my journey over the last ten years. Thank you to my members and SM staff for their support, and most importantly, thank you to my fans – my Czennies and WayZenNies – who have always loved and supported me. It means more to me than I can convey verbally.

Moving ahead, I plan to continue my efforts as Ten of NCT and WayV. At the same time, I’m delighted to show you new aspects of “TEN” and to grow as a solo artist in this next stage.

Ten’s solo endeavors, like those of many other K-pop singers, will no longer be managed by SM Entertainment, but he will continue to work with them as a member of the NCT and WayV groups. Many musicians have adopted this procedure, including the entire BLACKPINK group, SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s D.O., 2NE1’s CL, Pentagon’s KINO, and others.

Pumas vs. Chivas Thriller Ends in Dramatic Draw

Pumas vs. Chivas Thriller Ends in Dramatic Draw

Pumas and Chivas presented a high-intensity duel at Estadio Akron, resulting in a dramatic 2-2 tie. The game featured momentum swings, spectacular individual performances, and late-game controversies, keeping spectators on edge until the final whistle.

Pumas started well and appeared to be in control early on. They took the lead in the 21st minute thanks to a well-executed play by Juninho, who beat several players before assisting Uriel Antuna. Faced with boos from the home crowd, Antuna answered in the best way possible—by scoring to put Pumas ahead 1-0.

Pumas continued to press, doubling their lead before halftime. Jordan Carrillo’s set-piece pass produced confusion in the box, leading to an own goal by José Castillo. With a 2-0 lead, the Pumas appeared to be on their way to a rare away triumph against Chivas, a team they have always struggled against.

Despite the setback, Chivas demonstrated resilience in the second half. Their comeback began in the 70th minute, when Armando “La Hormiga” González scored with a thunderous header, giving the home side new hope. Chivas then raised the pressure and pushed ahead forcefully.

Pumas vs. Chivas Thriller Ends in Dramatic Draw

The pivotal point came during stoppage time. Following a lengthy VAR review, Chivas was awarded a contentious penalty for a foul on Roberto Alvarado. González stepped up in the 101st minute and calmly converted the penalty, completing his brace and winning a vital point for Chivas.

González was, without a doubt, the match’s star. His two goals not only saved the game, but also cemented his status as the league’s leading scorer with 12 goals. Furthermore, he continues to amass a remarkable record at Estadio Akron, where his goals have helped Chivas preserve its unblemished home record.

Pumas will be unhappy after losing a two-goal lead. However, there were some positives to draw from their performance. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas put on a tremendous performance, making numerous vital stops to maintain his team ahead for the majority of the contest. His experience and dependability remain a valuable asset to the team.

The match also revealed several areas of concern for the Pumas. Defensive lapses, particularly under pressure, were costly. Their inability to hold possession in critical periods enabled Chivas to retake control and stage a comeback.

Pumas have historically struggled at Estadio Akron, and this loss continues their winless skid there, which began in 2018. Meanwhile, Chivas continues to establish itself as one of the league’s best home clubs this season.

Finally, the draw displays both teams’ zeal and competition. While Chivas will celebrate their late comeback, Pumas will reflect on what may have been after such an impressive first half.

Pooh Shiesty’s lawyer questions prosecutors’ framing of the Gucci Mane robbery case in Dallas

Pooh Shiesty’s lawyer questions prosecutors’ framing of the Gucci Mane robbery case in Dallas

Federal officials believe the Memphis rapper was the “ringleader” in the robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane and two other music industry heavyweights.

The Dallas lawyer for the Memphis rapper accused of organizing the theft of rap legend Gucci Mane in a Dallas recording studio earlier this year claimed the government was oversimplifying a far more nuanced case.

John Helms, who claimed to have entered the case less than a day before, described Lontrell Williams Jr., the rapper known as Pooh Shiesty, as a brilliant artist who has had “a lot of success as an entertainer.”

The words provided the strongest indication yet of how Williams, 26, may approach the case as it progresses. According to federal authorities, he was the “ringleader” of a group of eight men that kidnapped and robbed three music industry figures at gunpoint during a meeting at a Dallas recording studio on January 10.

According to court filings, one of the three industry figures, only named as R.D., signed Williams to the 1017 filings label. Radric Davis, also known as Gucci Mane, is a Grammy-nominated rapper.

Davis launched 1017 Records and signed Williams years ago. Prosecutors said Williams organized the meeting under the premise of discussing business.

Davis’ publicist has not responded to many email requests for comment since Thursday.

Williams ascended to national stardom in 2021 with the hit single “Back in Blood” and his breakthrough project Shiesty Season.

William has also collaborated with Rodney Wright Jr., a Memphis rapper known as Big30, who was arrested and suspected of participating in the crime.

Williams and Davis collaborated on numerous tunes. 1017 Records’ website still shows him as an artist.

Pooh Shiesty’s lawyer questions prosecutors’ framing of the Gucci Mane robbery case in Dallas

During the studio meeting, Williams requested to speak with Davis privately and presented paperwork that would free him from their contract. When Davis refused to sign, Williams brandished an AK-style weapon and held him at gunpoint, according to court filings unsealed this week.

According to court filings, Williams removed Davis’ wedding band, watch, earrings, and cash, while another member of the gang may have used his phone to capture Davis signing the paperwork.

When they left the separate room, the other men in Williams’ entourage pulled out firearms and demanded property from the other two music industry figures.

The trio stole a variety of goods, including watches, wallets, a chain and necklace carrying the “1017” designation, a Louis Vuitton bag holding numerous other high-end watches, and a pair of Apple AirPods, according to court documents.

Helms claimed that another lawyer who had represented Williams in a previous lawsuit in Florida connected the rapper with his business. The two have already discussed his situation.

Williams’ group also comprised his father, Lontrell Williams Sr., and six other members: Kedarius Waters, Kordae Johnson, Demarcus Glover, Damarian Gipson, Darrion McDaniel, and Terrance Rodgers.

All nine individuals are charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to conduct kidnapping, each of which carry sentences ranging from years to life imprisonment. It is unclear if they have attorneys. Authorities said eight of them were caught on Wednesday, while the ninth was apprehended Thursday in Atlanta.

The younger Williams may face harsher penalties: prosecutors claim he was on home detention and wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the recording studio meeting.

According to court documents, he is serving the remainder of a 63-month federal sentence imposed in Florida in 2022 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons in furtherance of violence and drug trafficking activities.

He was prohibited from possessing a weapon or being in the presence of anyone who did.

Mets slugger Juan Soto exits because of right calf tightness

SAN FRANCISCO—Scoring—New York Mets slugger Juan Soto departed Friday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants in the first inning with right calf stiffness and is scheduled for an MRI on Saturday.

“There’s obviously concern,” manager Carlos Mendoza stated following his team’s 10-3 victory. “The calf area may be tough. We just have to wait, but there is definite concern.”

Soto singled off Tyler Mahle in the first inning and appeared to slow down as he moved from first to third on Bo Bichette’s run scoring single.

“He noticed some discomfort,” said Carlos Mendoza. “While he was at third base, the tightness kept increasing.”

Mets slugger Juan Soto exits because of right calf tightness

Juan Soto was thrown out at home after Brett Baty hit into a quick 1-2-3 double play. Tyrone Taylor then took over in left field to start the bottom of the first inning.

At 27, Soto is in year two of his historic 15-year, $765 million deal with the Mets. Last season, he delivered 43 home runs and 105 RBIs across 160 games.

Soto, a four-time All-Star and six-time Silver Slugger award winner, has played at least 150 games in six of his eight major league seasons prior to this one.

The only times he didn’t were during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and his rookie year with Washington in 2018, when he was promoted on May 20. He has not been on the injured list since early in the 2021 season with the Washington Nationals.

Soto has hit safely in all eight Mets games this year. On Friday, he had a.282 career batting average and 245 home runs.
